In July of 2013, the Oregon Legislature passed House Bill 3233 which is providing targeted investments to support Oregon’s educators through a Network for Quality Teaching and Learning that support recruitment of the best and brightest into the profession, delivery of relevant, high quality teacher preparation and professional development, provision of skilled mentors to new teachers and administrators, and assurances that teacher have the strong, embedded professional development they need to be as effective as possible. These strategic investments are designed to leverage matching funds and community partnerships to scale best practices, and ultimately improve student outcomes in our state.
